Barbara Walter's Affair
|
Barbara Walters became the latest celebrity to bare her soul to America's celebrity confessor, Oprah Winfrey. During an appearance to tape the talk show yesterday (Thursday), the 78-year-old co-host of The View fessed up to an affair she had in the 1970s with then-senator Edward Brooke, an African-American and Republican from Massachusetts who was married at the time. The affair remained a secret until Walters broke the 30-year-old story. Walters, who was between husbands at the time, told Winfrey, "He was exciting. He was brilliant. It was exciting times in Washington." Brooke, who now lives in Florida, has yet to comment on Walters' admission. The episode of Oprah airs Tuesday. |
