Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook reached a surprise settlement in their bitter divorce case yesterday (Thursday) -- with the supermodel getting sole custody of the couple's two children. Addressing reporters outside a Long Island, New York court, Brinkley said, "It really is the death of a marriage, but it's also, I think, a new start for all of us and I'm very pleased with the results today. I think a mother's greatest fear is somebody trying to take her children, trying to take custody of her children. I've won custody and decision-making, and that's really all I ever wanted." Brinkley was also given control of all 18 of the couple's New York properties, while Cook was granted unspecified "parenting time" and two-million dollars. |
