Dolly Does Broadway

The stage version the movie 9 to 5 will come to life on Broadway early next year. The show features music and lyrics of Dolly Parton, who wrote the music for and starred in the movie. The play, which will star Allison Janney, features Dolly's original score plus 20 new songs. For Dolly, writing songs for the play was challenging. She says, "It's different, it's kind of fun though because I have to act out all of the stuff and I have to be everybody -- the men and the women." The show is schedule to open on the Great White Way next April. |
