Doctor Phil rode to the rescue of one of the Florida teenagers arrested for participating in that videotaped beating of a classmate. The talk show host's staff ponied up the bail for Mercades Nichols on Saturday -- as it was preparing a show on the case. A spokeswoman for the good doctor admits, "We have helped guests and potential guests in the past when they need financial assistance to come on the show -- assisting with clothing allowance, lost wages, accommodations, travel and necessities." However, she says paying bail goes "beyond our guidelines," so they've chewed out a few staff members and "decided not to go forward with the story."
