Meaty McConaughey

With another mouth to feed, new father Matthew McConaughey has signed up to hawk beef. Little Levi's shirtless dad is doing radio spots for the National Cattleman's Beef Association, which end with the signature line, "Beef, it's what for dinner." One group that has a beef with the ads is, not surprisingly, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The group quickly penned McConaughey a letter telling him, "We're sure that you'd run screaming from any future offer from the meat industry if you took one look at the cows hung up by one leg, thrashing in pain and fear before having their throats slit, all of this taking place in front of other animals." PETA has invited him on a field trip to a slaughterhouse -- when he's not busy changing diapers. |
