Introducing the newest member of Valley Open MRI & Diagnostic Center
Michael Yuz, M.D.

Dr. Michael Yuz came to this country in 1988 and like many Russian-Jewish immigrants settled with his parents in Brooklyn, NY.  His diligence and persistence in high school culminated with his acceptance to the pre-medical program at New York University where he earned a Bachelors Degree with Honors in biochemistry in three years.  His dream to become a physician was realized when he was not only accepted to SUNY Downstate Medical School, Brooklyn, but was also awarded a scholarship.

Dr. Yuz was fortunate to receive excellent training in diagnostic radiology, the specialty that he is passionate about.  During his residency at NYU Medical Center and his Cross-Sectional fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, which included advanced MRI training, he has an opportunity to work side by side and learn from multiple world-renown radiologists (Drs. Kurtz, Goldberg and Bosniak, et al).

For a brief time Dr. Yuz worked in Long Island, NY in a private radiology group.  In June, 2005 he moved to our beautiful area with his wife of seven years, Elli and his two beautiful children, five year old daughter Shari and two year old son Jonathan. 

We are very fortunate to have Dr. Yuz as a member of the Valley Open MRI staff.  His proficiency in all modalities, particularly CT, MRI, ultrasound and mammography, will provide an unsurpassed level of diagnostic expertise and service to the physicians and people of NEPA.

Dr. Yuz has an outstanding work ethic that equals that of President and Chief Radiologist, Dr. Juan D. Gaia and the entire Valley Open MRI & Diagnostic Center team.  His people-oriented approach is well received by patients, staff, and referring physicians alike.

Dr. Yuz and his family truly enjoy the people, history, culture and all that the beautiful greater Wyoming Valley has to offer.
